Led by two serial accomplishers, Bruce Tyler and Michael Hinderliter, WMD committed itself to becoming the most accomplished distillery in North Carolina and on equal footing with the long-time legends of this spirits world.
The desire to create, distill and deliver something different is WMD’s driving force. There are many ingredients that flavor this distillery in the Roanoke River Valley. A naturally beautiful environment, pristine river water and people with an insatiable desire to succeed.

Weldon Mills Distillery is NC Proud!
Weldon Mills Distillery is the beneficiary of the pristine Roanoke River Valley water and its many natural springs that act as tributaries. For centuries the waters of the region were sought after by the native Indian tribes, British invaders and Revolutionary armies. Dignitaries and political leaders requested its shipment around the world for their personal consumption. As the base ingredient for our award-winning bourbons, this river not only enhances our products but also provides a beautiful backdrop as you walk the grounds of Weldon Mills.
What’s the old saying, something is only as good as the sum of its parts? Well, in our case, our bourbons are what they are because of the ingredients we use to make them. Everything we use from the water, to the barley, corn and wheat are locally sourced in North Carolina.
